1. Servotech to set-up 11 EV charging stations for BESCOM in Karnataka.
EV charger manufacturer Servotech Power Systems has secured a contract to set-up 11 DC Fast EV charging stations from BESCOM (Bangalore Electricity Supply Company). The agreement includes Servotech installing public EV charging stations at 11 RTOs across Karnataka. The NSE-listed Servotech saw its stock jump by 5% after the announcement of this news.
Previously, Servotech had secured a contract for setting-up EV charging stations from ANERT (Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology), Goverment of Kerala. The company will set-up EV charging stations with 30 kW DC fast-chargers at the 12 locations of the Kerala Motor Vehicle Department.
2. Maruti Suzuki working on a complete ecosystem for future EV customers.
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch its first electric car, the eVX, in early 2025. The company has envisioned creating a complete ecosystem for its EV customers to tackle three major points: range anxiety, EV charging infrastructure & EV resale. Maruti has started work on installing EV charging stations at its NEXA showrooms. Apart from this, the company has elaborate plans to set-up a standalone EV charging network and is also putting together strategies for electric car resale.
Maruti Suzuki India’s first electric car, the eVX, will be launched at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January 2025. The eVX electric SUV will feature a 60 kWh battery pack that will deliver a range of 500 km.
3. EV charger manufacturing facility to come up in Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu).
Mumbai-based Epic Energy and Coimbatore-based Fenfeo Automation have come together to form a joint venture to set-up an EV charger manufacturing facility in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The facility is expected to start operations early 2025.
The manufacturing unit will have an initial capacity of 15,000 chargers per year, with room to expand as per market response. Epic Energy will have 76% of the total shares, while Fenfeo will have the remaining 24%.
4. Startup inaugurates its first EV charging station.
Gurugram-based startup EVFY inaugurated its first EV charging station at Sector 73, Gurugram. This is the company’s 1st of 100 planned charging stations across Delhi-NCR.
The newly launched EV charging station at One Global by Capital Developers, Sec 73, Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), features chargers of 120kW, 60kW & 7.4kW capacities, compatible with electric 2, 3 & 4-wheelers. The charging station has a digital display with RFID functionality.
5. BESCOM comes together with Pulse Energy for an upgraded EV Mithra app.
BESCOM (Bangalore Electricity Supply Company) has joined hands with Pulse Energy to launch an upgraded interface for its EV Mithra app. The EV Mithra app provides details regarding EV charging stations like location, navigation, charger availability & nearby amenities. The app will now ensure secure access via OTP or RFID, and allow EV users to reserve chargers, view charging history and provide multiple payment options. BESCOM has asked consumers to uninstall the old EV Mithra app and install the new upgraded app. The wallet balance in the old app will automatically reflect in the new app upon login.
The new EV Mithra app also allows EV users to start & pay for EV charging sessions through WhatsApp,and features an AI-powered customer support bot.
