1. Tata Power installs 450 EV charging stations at highways across India.

Tata Power has installed 450 EV charging stations at 350 national highways across India. These highways span across 25 states & 5 union territories. The company’s charging points are now present at almost all national highways across the country.

Along with this, for centralized management of all Tata Power charging stations, the company has set up a Network Operations Centre (NOC), which will provide operational support.

2. Indian Oil plans to have 4000 EV charging stations by 2023.

Government-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) aims to have 4000 EV charging stations at its petrol pumps by the end of 2023. IOC already has 2500 charging stations in operation at its fuel retailing outlets. The company wants to have a ‘bouquet of services’ which includes all kinds of energy offerings.

The company is also setting up solar energy generation facilities at its fuel stations.

3. Jio-BP to offer discounts on EV charging till 18 September, 2022.

Jio-BP has announced discounted charging costs for all EVs at its Jio-BP ‘Pulse’ charging network throughout the country. These discounts will be available between 9th to 18th September. For these 10 days, EV users can charge their vehicles at Re.1 per kWh. The company is offering this discount on occasion of World EV Day (9th September).

4. Pune makes it mandatory to have EV charging facilities for new buildings.

The Pune Municipal Corporation has made it mandatory for new buildings in the city to have charging facilities for EVs. As per the new order, 20% of the total parking space should be reserved for EVs in all commercial as well as residential buildings. This order is in line with Maharashtra Government’s EV Policy which states that construction permit will be given to new buildings only if EV charging facilities are included in the plans.

For old buildings with parking spaces for 50 vehicles and more, installation of charging points for 10% of vehicles of their parking capacity is mandated. The building permit will be withheld if this condition is not fulfilled.

5. Haryana-based ‘E-Fill Electric’ launches Dual DC EV Charger.

Haryana-based startup ‘E-Fill Electric’ launched 60kW CCS2 Dual DC EV Charger at the EV India 2022 Expo. The charger comes with ‘multiple fault protection’ & ‘in-built earthing protection’. Other features include a 7 inch touchscreen & RFID-enabled access control. These chargers will be available for sale 1st October 2022 onwards. Alongside the charger, the company also presented an e-auto (loader) at the event.
