1. Statiq ties-up with car rental company Zoomcar.

Gurugram-based EV charging company Statiq has joined hands with car rental company Zoomcar to let EV owners rent out their cars. Such EV owners will be able to list their vehicles on Zoomcar’s app. Initially this will be available in Delhi-NCR and soon will be expanded to Mumbai & Bengaluru. Statiq's EV charging network will provide charging for the EVs serving as hosts through this agreement.

2. Mumbai Airport inducts 45 EVs!

The Mumbai International Airport has inducted its 1st batch of electric vehicles. The airport has introduced 45 EVs and intends to replace all its petrol/diesel-powered vehicles with electric ones by 2029. The airport has plans of deploying 60 more EVs in the next fiscal year as ambulances, security vehicles & maintenance utility vehicles.

Recently, the airport had commissioned 12 DC fast-charging stations at the multi-level car parking at Terminal 1 & 2 respectively and airside.

3. Charge Zone announces a ‘dealer-owned, Charge Zone-operated’ investment scheme.

EV charging company Charge Zone has introduced ‘Charge Zone Express’, a fast-charging service via dealerships. These dealerships will be available for people who are willing to invest a minimum of Rs 9.90 lakh and have space for installation. The agreement will be under a ‘DoCo’ model (Dealer owned, Charge Zone Operated). Charge Zone Express will provide EV charging service ranging from 30kW to 360kW with single & dual gun charging points.

4. Hyderabad E-Mobility Week.

The Telangana State Government will host the ‘Hyderabad E-Mobility Week’ from 5 to 11 February. The event will witness EV launches, exhibition of electric vehicles, charging stations & energy storage solutions. The event will also have an EV rally where EV enthusiasts will participate with their electric two-wheelers & electric cars to spread the message of sustainable mobility. During this e-mobility week, an EV expo named ‘Hyderabad E-Motor Show 2023’ will also be held on 8 February at the Hitex Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad. At the expo, Mahindra will be showcasing an electric sports car ‘Pininfarina Battista’ and Citroen India will be exhibiting its Citroen eC3 electric hatchback. The expo will also unviel a unique electric skateboard!

5. Electric farm tractors in news.

TI Clean Mobility, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Murugappa Group, has acquired the entire shareholding of Cellestial e-Mobility, a startup engaged in agricultural electric tractors. TI Clean Mobility held 69.96% of Cellestial e-Mobility, and recently executed a share purchase agreement to acquire the remaining 30.04% stake for Rs 50.90 crore. Cellestial's electric tractors come with swappable batteries and claim to offer lower total cost of ownership compared to diesel tractors.
